(272 pages) Previously this year I read the book WINTER DANCE by Gary Paulsen. I read this book in the lower school but I couldn’t understand it. But, now it is one of my favorite books. It may seem like a long book but if you really get into it you feel like you are in the race with Gary. Winter dance is based on Gary’s experience preparing for and running of the Iditarod. I recommend this book to people who can be mature about some gruesome thoughts and some swearing. But otherwise this book is beautify written I highly recommend this book.
Hoot (292) Carl Hiaason Hoot is a great book. Hoot is a great book about little owls that are in trouble because a new pancake house is going to be established over their home. The main character (Roy) sees a strange homeless boy running across his sidewalk he gets curious and chases after him only to realize he’s way too fast and is dangerous. This story becomes a great story because it is amazing what people Roy comes across and the real problems that can happen in real life. I recommend this book to all because it is full of adventure and mystery and you never know what will happen next.

JACK SPRUILL-TREASURE ISLAND- ROBERT LOIS STEVENSON-230 PAGES Treasure Island is an action packed novel about a young boy name Jim who goes on adventurous journey to Treasure Island. It is a great book during the thrilling parts but has many long boring parts and can be very confusing. I would not recommend this book for reading over a long period of time because it is easy to get confused. The switching of the narrator is also annoying. If you like long very complex book than you may enjoy this book if not I do not recommend this book to others.

I really liked Old Yeller. It is about a stray dog that comes to Travis while his father is on a cattle drive. At first Travis hates Old Yeller but then builds a relationship with him. They have many adventures together and Old Yeller turns out to be quite useful. I really suggest this book to anyone that likes animals or really just anyone, it’s a great book.
Bradley Dyke-A Long Way Gone : Memoires of a Boy Soldier-Ishmael Beah-240 pgs.
A Long Way Gone is great, inspirational book to read. The book was described in great detail about how Ishmael Beah, the author, got captured by soldiers in a civil war his country in Africa was in. It talks about his struggles, life, and what he did. It was perfect timing for me reading it because it is about the Lost Boys and we were studying them in school. I would definitely recommend this because it is an extremely interesting book and tells the life of an extraordinary man.
Charlie Swanson- A LONG WAY GONE- Ishmael Beah- 240
A LONG WAY GONE is a fast paced nonfiction book with a lot of action and fighting. It is about Ishmael Beah, a boy soldier from Sierra Leone. It tells about his journey through his country. This book is not for people who don’t like violence because his group was killing rebels. This book is very well written with a lot of African culture including religion, food, words and even more. I think anyone who reads this will be so intrigued that they will not drop the book until they are finished.
